Where are the best places to elope in Colorado?
As one of the most famous National Parks, Rocky has stunning mountain views, meadows of wildflowers and crystal alpine lakes. You can reserve a designated wedding site in advance, and spend the day driving through the park and exploring.
Best time to elope: summer, fall
Rocky Mountain National Park:
This is my personal favorite location in Colorado. It is easily accesible, and local favorite! A beautiful high-alpine lake with stunning mountain views and mild temps makes this an easy location.
Best time to elope: summer, early fall
For the more rugged adventurers, this lake is remote and pristine. You might be the only ones there! Accessed via 4x4 road or by foot (a stunning hike in), this lake is a hidden gem in Colorado.
Best time to elope: late summer, early fall
When should you elope in Colorado?
That all depends on the kind of adventure youβd like to have! Colorado is beautiful year-round, but I would recommend reading the basics below to get an ideas of our weather and seasons.
Spring
March-June
Unpredictable weather leads to possible snow and rainbows! Expect cooler temps and changing weather in the mountains. Some areas are still snowed in until July.
Summer
June-September
The best time to elope in the mountains in Colorado. Wildflowers bloom, temperatures are warmest, with some occasional afternoon rainstorms. Peak tourist season.
Fall
September-November
A great time to elope if you love fall colors and beautiful sunsets. This season is less touristy, more intimate and more rugged. Sweater, cabin and hot tub weather.
Winter
November-February
Think snowy cabins, warm fires and steamy hot springs! Great for lovers of snow. Perfect season for Front Range elopements, or backcountry explorations on skis or snowshoes. Must love the cold.
Colorado Elopement Costs:

-
It totally depends on what part of Colorado you want to elope in, as well as activities, vendors, and guest count! In general, elopements in Colorado cost anywhere from $5000-$15000.
-
In general, traditional weddings can cost $30,000-$35,000 in Colorado. However, this depends on the size and the vendors you book!
-
Start by prioritizing specific vendors to invest in. I recommend picking 2-3 things you canβt live without, and making a budget for those vendors. Also, think about alternative lodging, like camping or backpacking!
-
Nope! Colorado is one of those amazing states where you can self-solemnize (which means you can basically marry yourself!) All you need to have is your marriage license and witnesses to sign (you can also have your dog sign).
